What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device so that information can be remembered between requests or visits. Modern sites also use related technologies — such as local storage and pixel tags — that have similar effects. In this policy, "cookies" refers to all of these.

Cookies on DDMMYYYY.net

DDMMYYYY.net does not use first-party cookies to identify you or track your behaviour. The cookies that may be set when you visit the site come from third-party services we embed: an analytics provider, an advertising network, and any additional partners those networks load on their side. The categories below describe what each one does.

Categories in use

Strictly necessary

None at present. The site does not require login, does not store session state across pages, and does not use a consent banner that itself relies on cookies. If we add features that require strictly necessary cookies (for example, to remember a consent choice), we will list them here.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are read, how visitors arrive, and roughly where in the world readers are. Google Analytics sets cookies (commonly named _ga, _gid, and identifiers in the _ga_* family) and may use similar identifiers on Google's own domains. The data is aggregated and used to improve the site's content and structure.

Advertising

The site is supported by display advertising, including Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners use cookies and similar identifiers to:

Google's broader description of the cookies used in advertising is published as part of Google's Advertising policies. The site may also include other ad networks; their cookies are governed by their own policies.

Controlling cookies

In your browser

All major browsers let you view, allow, or block cookies for individual sites or globally. The exact controls depend on your browser and version, but the typical settings are under "Privacy", "Cookies and site data", or similar headings. You can also use private/incognito browsing modes to avoid persisting cookies between sessions.

For analytics

To opt out of measurement by Google Analytics across all sites, install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Many ad blockers and privacy-focused browser extensions also block analytics scripts.

For advertising

You can manage personalised advertising in several ways:

Opting out of personalised advertising does not stop ads from being shown — it means the ads you see will be less tailored.

Do Not Track

Browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal to websites. There is no agreed industry standard for how sites should respond to this signal. The third-party services we use handle Do Not Track according to their own policies.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly use cookies to build profiles of children. If you believe a child has been profiled through their use of the site, contact us and we will work with the relevant providers to remove the data where possible.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when the cookies we set change, when our analytics or advertising providers change, or when applicable law changes. The "Last reviewed" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent review.
